Laryngitis is characterized by inflammation of the larynx or vocal chords. This is due to irritation of the vocal chord the voice may become coarse or probably may absent during the period of laryngitis.
Two types:
* Acute – only for few days
* Chronic – 3 weeks or more
Causes
* Loud singing
* Acid irritation
* Germ infection
* Colds and coughs
* Allergy from smoking
* Yelling and screaming
Symptoms
* Weak and raspy voice
* Dry and sore throat
* Tickling in throat
* Pain when swallowing
* Colds symptoms
* Coughing
