Home Remedy for Dengue

Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is a type of syndrome that caused by viruses transmitted from mosquitoes. Dengue is prevalent in tropical and sub-tropical areas of the world. Dengue is also called Thai, Philippine or Southeast Asian hemorrhagic fever and dengue shock syndrome. Outbreaks of Dengue have occurred in the Caribbean, U.S. Virgin Islands, Cuba, and Central America. Some reported cases are contracted during travels imported by tourists returning from areas with known dengue outbreaks, like Tahiti, the South Pacific, Southeast Asia, West Indies, India, and the Middle East.

Causes

It is acquired if bitten by striped Aedes aegypti mosquito that has previously bitten an infected person. With just one bite of the Aedes mosquitos can inflict the disease.

The virus is not contagious and mode of transfer frompersontoperson is thru person-to-mosquito-to-another-person cycle.

Symptoms

* Cough
* Nausea
* Vomiting
* Headache
* Sore throat
* Abdominal pain
* Continuous fever

Shock usually occurs two up to six days after the start of symptoms with sudden collapse, cool, clammy extremities, weak pulse, and blueness around the mouth.
